I shot my 7 pointer this year.....when he was hot on the trail of a doe. He had his head down in the (OK....I'm not sure if I know) sneak position, when I stopped him. I don't have one mounted in this position.....and wondered what your thoughts are (if you have one like this...do you like it or regret it?).

If you have an example....please post a photo. I need to tell my taxi something, soon.

    Thanks.

I've seen them in that position, and thought it was cool.

My latest mount was done in a full sneak, slight turn. Sorry no pics at the moment(at work). But you can probably find it in the "show your mounts thread"
I really like the sneak pose. Can't go wrong IMO.

GMMAT. I have a couple of sneak mounts but cant get photos taken until tonight. I really like them. The one thing you may need to think about, is that they stick out from the wall quite a bit more. So it may depend on where you intend to hang it.

That's what I was going to point out. I have to get mounts done according to where they are going in the house so that the location and pose put the animal in it's best display. I haven't got much room left because it's a small house, not that there's a lot of mounts... :(

Don't you have two right now that are facing different directions?
You should get this one done straight on, and have it hung in the middle of the two, then work in kind of a scene around them. Like a wall placard (very large) with tall grass, and what not... or something... But yeah. I think a full sneak would work rather well with the other two. And the space really is running low in that room lol. Time to start hangin' them in the upstairs. ;)

I really like that mount too, and also love the ear position that is pictured there too.

I'm not a big fan of the pedestal mounts but I like the extreme sneak pose.

The extreme sneak is the one I'm going with. I just got off the phone with "hollywood" (taxi). I've got the perfect spot for it. My buck was dogging a doe.....and I hope to have a doe mount done next year to compliment the pair.

Thanks for your collective advice and photos!

**Edit....SHould be ready at the end of March. He's going to add some sort of wood to one side....but nothing too much. I told him to do it like he wanted to. I trust his judgement a lot more than anything I could come up with.

Jeff I have two mounted this way..one is a semi sneak which is a nice mount. the other is a full sneak and I hate it.. be careful, it's a mount that can either make your deer look great or it can really ruin it...I will never get another sneak mount done.

How would you do that? Mount the rear end of the doe on the opposite wall?
