Damn Finch for starting an operation thread while i was working on mine

    Anyways,

After checking my cuddeback yesterday, and having favorable results:

I decided it was time to start focusing on this area. Its a ridge on the backside of my property that i have only hunted 2-3 times in the last 4 years for whitetails. There are 3 prominent bedding areas just off the property border, and a network of trails working down the ridge leading too/from them. I recently made 5 mock scrapes along this 400 yard ridgeline.

    Heres a map:

Im going to go take down my bean field setup now since the beans have changed, and im going to hang it in the vicinity of the 3 bedding areas. This is going to be one of my major rut stands for the fall.

Anybody have any pointers so see anything valuable that im missing?

You got all sorts of critters checking it out. Looks like one deer went number 2 instead of number 1 in the scrap. ;)

Thread title thief!!!!! I better not find anything incriminating on your myspace/facebook page. :D

I bought all the stuff yesterday to make a mock scrape. Guess I'll do it tomorrow. I looked at the turds in a bag but didn't buy. Maybe I should have. Good luck buddy. :)

Do they do anything special to the bag-o-turds like freeze dry them or anything? If not, why not just pick up some deer poop that you find and put it in the scrape?

The stuff i bought was artificial...

Im assuming stuff you find would work well...i just didnt feel like going on a turd scavenger hunt when i could buy a bag for $8 at wally world.

Im pumped for this setup. I have great cover from the front and back if deer are travelling East or West too/from the bedding area. Anything to the north of me must cross in my range because of the ravine dropoff as well. Should be a great spot.

You know, I may just have to try that. I knew that it worked but I didn't know that it worked for all animals!

Ya want deer, turkeys or coyotes......... just make a scrape and sit! :D

Nice pics, feel free to post more if you can.

For an update, i have hunted this stand 3 times now i believe, once being thwarted by kids with firecrackers (long story), and have had favorable results:

Im excited to hunt this spot more as the rut begins
