Went out yesterday to hopefully connect with a elk or deer. Not much to report. I drove up to camp early yesterday morning. My nephew got married Friday so I didn't get up there Friday at all. The Morning was beautiful but no animals. We had a good thunder storm hit us in the afternoon. So the afternoon/evening hunt was a little latter and wet. Did but a stock on a little 2 point buck (that would be a 4 point back east) but he busted me. Did meet a guy from Delaware that drew a big bull tag. He asked if he could hunt in the area we were in. So I told him he could sit in my stand if he wanted. So hopefully that will turn out well for him. I go back up Wednesday thru Saturday I will report on how things go next Sunday. Still a couple coming in

Those are some nice looking elk. I was up chasing both Muleys and Elk on Saturday, and like you, got on a nice two point, but couldn't maneuver through the grove as well as I would have liked to, so I backed out trying not to pressure him. That worked wonders as he came back to where we spotted him. The problem was I was on the other side of the canyon. Good luck.
