Not a single deer sighted by myself or the 4 other bowhunters on my lease. We had beautiful weather for the opener on Saturday. Nice cool temps and sunny skies to start the day. But we figure with the full moon the deer were moving at night. I sat from dark until 12:30 and then from 3:00 until dark again. All I saw were 6 feral hogs and couldn't get a shot at them. The clouds came in and the rain started Saturday just before dark. It rained hard all night. I thought I'd wait for a break in the rain on Sunday but it just didn't happen before I had to head for home. We got over 3" of rain from Saturday evening to the time I left Sunday afternoon.
After all the anticipation of waiting for opening day it was a real let down. I'll get back out there next weekend. I won't hunt again until Saturday evening. Lily has a soccer game in the morning and I won't miss her whole season to satisfy mine. This is going to be a long week.

I didn't go Sunday morning either, it was pouring rain when I got up. I did get up in the tree yesterday evening though, 2 doe and 2 yearlins came within 20 yards in my food plot. We don't have just a whole lot of deer on this place so the doe's get to walk for the next couple of years. Anyway, sorry to hear ya got rained out all day yesterday (I thought I was going to be also). It's suppose to rain all week and then clear out by the weekend with the highs in the low 60's upper 50's

For some reason it was slow here also, I say 4 does opening evening, and those were the last ones I saw.

The full moon will do that to ya! Saturday was a bust for us too - saw one small doe in the AM, and nothing from stand in the PM. Yesterday Mike was hunting and could've shot about 10 does but he passed them all up, despite my repeatedly tell him he was a disgrace as I was filming. All movement was well after daylight and continued until almost 10:30. I have a feeling if we had stayed until mid-day we would've continued to see deer.

Glad to see you'd rather see her takin' shots, good man!

Well, the moon in waning now, and it'll be last quarter by next weekend, hopefully these creatures that we're pursuing will be on a better schedule then.

Keep at it! I want a txt from TX:D
