Well my buddy and I headed out on public ground in Miami County Kansas. We both had our first tags filled by 7:30 am. The Tom's were gobbeling from afar and we seen some hens roosted in the distant trees. We called to the Tom's for about 45 minutes, trying to coach them over from some private ground. Finally got them to come into our set up. Two Tom's came in side by side. I had the first clear shot as we both were at full draw in the blind. I put the Stryker thru my Tom and he bolted forward about 15 yards and layed down. The other Tom went to investagate my Tom and my buddy (son in law) put a great shot on him. My Tom stood up after that and I stuck him again. After a short tracking job both birds were recovered. A great opening morning.
Good to see a father refer to his son in law as his buddy. Though my father in law passed on years ago, he was my #1 hunting partner when he was alive. I hope though that you give him a hard time. I know mine did but I expected no less. Congratulations to you both.
