Well it's finally opening weekend for archery season here in Arkansas and it's forecasted to be a balmy 87 degrees F. I'm almost tempted to stay home and soak some A/C and watch football, but I'd hate myself. Any tips for hot weather early season hunting? Anything g would be appreciated. BLESSINGS!
I'd hunt in the afternoon. Ease in with minimal clothing and take your time setting up. Remove your hat the entire time and let your body cool down.
Yeah pretty much just move slow and I like to wipe down with some dead down wind no scent wipes, kinda cools you down.
Our season opened up on Sept 11th and it was upper 80's. Some years it's been 90's. Follow VA Shadows advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was 92 on our opening weekend. Besides moving slow I brought a ice pack with me to the stand. I rested the ice pack between the back of my neck and the tree and that worked out well to keep me cool. Also a small towel to wipe off once I got in the stand and sent killer spray. Good news was I saw plenty of deer and ended up getting a nice buck. The ice pack was a life savor though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
