I got a bottle of this (click here) when I ordered some minerals this summer, I'm planning on using it.

The vanilla extract seems like an interesting Idea. I am going to give it a try as well. Also for the opener I will be using a product from Lowe's Deer Scents called Buck Butter. Check it out, it is an interesting concept.

The vanilla sounds interesting. I think my father-in-law has used that before. He works for a feed company, and they use different extracts that he has brought home and used. Seems like it has worked for him in the past.

I'll probably just spray down w. scent eliminator, and sit and wait. I have decided to try not to do anything that might change their pattern this year.

I couldn't agree more, if you want a chance at a Mature buck, then you DO NOT want him to know you are there (doe P, Vanilla Extract, exc....) however, this is how I would normally hunt to cover my scent.

good luck, unless you're on another team.

Hey I've only hunted one season but my uncle has taught me alot and one thing we do after setting a pile of bait is put vanilla extract on the pile and around and it def draws them in. Im saying this from personal experience but hey that's my area it might work for all Idk just throwing it out there :)

Like i said with many years of my experience you cant buy a cheaper more efective lure than Vanilla Extract , everytime i go to a new store i check there prices on it , Rural King is the cheapest that i have found $1.19 for 12 oz . it works perfect from this time of the year to the rut , then after the rut in late season when there searching for food again , they smell the Vanilla aroma in the air and come to check it out , i've had nothing but good luck with it , and it works for drawing in coyotes also .

I have never had an issue of spraying it and it detouring the deer out of my area , it has done nothing but bring them in , i also like mentioned above mix it with shelled corn and mashed corn , along with molasses i can damn near make a 1000 lbs of feed for what you can but 3 bags of Swamp Donkey or anything else in that matter for , i see lots of people buying that stuff up when i'm at Bass Pro or Cabelas and i just laugh my azz off , i use my head on my scents and lures and spend my hunting money more wisely elsewhere .
