yep it's here and I am not even going to hunt, I now know what it feels like to be Hooker. Be a member of a great hunting community and not hunt, LOL

First opening day I have missed ever. I have two soccer games and a flag football game on Saturday. Sunday I have a double header for softball.

    Getting old sucks:fro:

Ya.. but I bet you have loads of fun hanging with the fam all of opening day.

I must admit that before I started my family with my wife I never understood missing hunting.. and now I totally get it and wouldn't have it any other way.

Enjoy the games this weekend Germ.

That has been my lot for a long time now Germ. In fact, if I hunt tomorrow morning like planned, it will be my first opener in something like 15 years. But you know what, I wouldnt trade being a Dad for any amount of hunting and I know you feel the same. Plenty of years ahead that I will be in a tree and wish the boys were still around. Best of luck to your kids in their sporting events, and to you when you finally get to hunt.

It gets easier after your first.

Opening day doesn't really mean much to me anymore. It was different when I was younger and we went "up north" to our cabin. It was more of an event, now its just another day I could hunt.
