I have an opportunity to open a Bowtech archery shop. The local Sporstmans wharehouse is closing and we are thr front runners for the dealership. My question is this. In this economic state, do you think that we as bowhunters are going to continue purchacing new bows and accesories? Are we spending less? Fixing up our old bows< considering new bows? any imput would be appriecated. Mac
How popular is BT in Minnesota? Here in Wisconsin it seems Mathews is the main bow for hunters so I am confused as to why you might narrow it to a BT archery shop.
Bowtech was a great seller at the local Sportsmans Wharehouse. If I can do 25% of there sales volume it should work.
I here ya there Tony! I see very few Bowtechs out at the range around here! You have to think about it though, Sportsmans sells a lot of other things and doesn't base it shop on one item or one brand of Bow! I'm all for the Ma & PA shops but I think it would be a struggle in this day and age to open up any kind of business!
Aj don't get me wrong I am all for business especially someone from the site. Just seem in this day in age more you got to offer the better. I am not sure how it works when it comes to territory's and how many different bows you can sell. Just so you know I am not a mathews owner, lol T
 What the? R U kidding me. Mathews may have been that at one time. But my proshop guys says BT out sell Mat, & Hoy 2-1. He couldn't keep the ally & guardian in stock. Bowtech has a way better inovation team than mathews. Granted Mathews has come out w/the Monster, but look what BT has done in the past 3 yrs w/the Tribue, Ally, & guardian. The completely revolutionized the bow industry. Question is how close is the next guy? I wouldn't stick to just BT though, you need to have variety to bring all types of customers. Everyone is loyal to their particular brand. They may look at a different bow, but very rarely will people switch brands, unless there is a huge difference in the bow your selling.
Right now in the city where I work there are no archery pro shops, they all closed. They didn't close because of the economy, but rather the way that they treated cusotmers. I can tell you right now that there is a proshop in the town nearby, and I'm hearing alot of complaints through the grapevine about how they're treating people and charging for every little damn thing. It's the way you do business, is what will keep them coming in the door. I actually went to Virginia to buy a van last yr. I'd go right back to that dealership because of they way they did business and treated me.

Hank out of the 4 pro shops around me only 1 pushes bowtech in Richmond, Il. I can't stand the place and it has nothing to do with BT but his customer service blows along with prices. Hank I bet your shop pushes BT so that helps buddy.
