Maybe the local sheriff can help you identify the low life scums. I hope you catch them and the judge makes them pay a hefty fine!

you had a little snow , there was no way to track them? or did they park in the cul-de-sac? This sort of thing is bad everywhere but MI seems to be one of the worse... Did you post on MI sportsman forum?

I know first hand what it's like to have this happen. Unfortunately, not only did they steal my treestand but they also took my game cam. Unbelievable what people do sometimes, some people have no respect for others or their property. I hope you find out who these people are and I would throw the book at them as well. It's unsettling to know there are people who will completely disregard posted signs and then to top it off deface or steal property while trespassing. Good luck!

No. No updates unfortunately. Yep, we posted it all over the place. I went to the hunt camp of who I thought it might be, but it wasn't them. They saw the guys, but they didn't know who they were.

Long story short, I used to let people trespass on to the lake and ice fish in the winter, all of that's over. These DB's have ruined it for a lot of people. I don't want to hear their sob stories about how they don't have property, stay off mine.

Unless you're my wife, or my wife gave birth to you, you'd better think twice before you step on my property.

Man, that sucks that they haven't been caught. I hope that you end up finding them. They are trash and need to be exposed to the public for all to see.

Wow, that sucks. Hope you catch the POS. Tresspassing is bad enough.. then stealing your son's blind, that is just low life.

Story about similar thing.. My grandmother owned a large piece of land in PA. After her passing, the land was divided amoung her kids. The entire family has always had permission to hunt any portion of the land, and I had my favorite spot on a certain piece of land. Several years after my grams passing, I was heading back to my spot after lunch and find a guy in my spot. Now my family, in most cases, will allow anyone to hunt if you have asked permission. All guests are told and that if a family member comes up and says "this is my spot", you get up and move, no arguements. Since this was my absolute favorite spot for years, I headed over to ask him to move to another spot.. even direct him to another good spot. This POS gives me an attitude and says he can hunt where he wants. I got suspicious and I questioned if he had permission to be here at all. This low life tells me "I have permission to be here! I talked to Faye last week and got her permission to hunt this spot!". I wanted to just lay this guy out.. but kept my cool I said back to him "Permission from Faye huh, just last week huh? That is funny.. Faye is my grandmother and she passed away 4 years ago!" I told him to "get the *blank* off the property and do not ever come back".

I told my family about what he looked like in case he ever came back. My cousin stopped a guy a few months later. Same piece of trash was trying to enter the property again. My cousin told him that if he sets foot on the property again, the police will be called and he will be arrested. As far as I know, that was the last time he was ever seen there.

It's amazing the balls (or is it just lack of brains?) some people have in this day and age. If I owned land, trespassers/thieves would be my biggest concern. I almost find comfort in hunting Public land and not having to worry about who enters it because I have no control over it.

The downside of public land is there are even more idiots out there with sticky fingers! I want to buy some small tracker chips and plant them in some stuff and leave out where it is almost too easy to steal and then go knock on doors with the police!!! New Outdoor Channel hit show.....Outdoor Law.

I LOVE that idea! I have had 2 stands stolen off my family land.. First one, I left at the base of the tree as I damaged a part and couldn't get it to open up. It grew legs and walked off. Second time I chained it to the tree, but the thief used a gun to cut the chain that was there to keep it from being stolen. Now I only use my climber stand and it goes in and out with me for every hunt.

I've looked into it...The problem with any GPS type system that is readily available and cost effective, is that unless it's a large piece of equipment (front end loader) you can't hide them, which means thief just takes it off, and leaves.

The problem is because of the different types of equipment we use for hunting, any type of GPS unit would need a long life battery system and be very small so that it can be hidden. They exist, but for what you're paying for one, you might as well just go buy a new tree stand.

And no...We never found these thieves.

I saved the picture in my phone. It's a very small town, one day I'll see them at the gas station or something...I can't stand a thief.
