Friends, It was an honor to participate in the contest with a group of fallas who obviously were excellent hunters. I entered the season in great spirits and felt strongly that I would be able to bag something. Unfortunately, things did not work out and as I read of your reported successes I became obsessed with making a contribution to the team. I hunted hard at every spare moment and likely over-pressured the small property available. At some point, it felt like It was too late to report back empty handed, but that is no excuse for abandoning my post. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for failing to report in. I hope you guys won.....at last check you were near the top of the heap. Best regards, Rob
Well as one of your former teammates, there are no hard feelings, I didn't bag a buck for the first time in a long while, things happen..It isn't any problem at all and I would be Happy to be on a team with you again.. Good Luck this season!!!!!!!!
Thanks my friends. I'm not entering the contest this year, but will follow your progress and post pics of any kills.
Maybe next year Opel. Just arrowed a rabbit in the front yard; perhaps my luck has changed for the better. Rabbit adobo time!
You should really enter. We always have a ton of people who don't put down any deer myself included LOL. Like already mentioned it is all for fun!!! Sure you can put down a giant anyways I know of a bunch of nice ones up near where you live!
Thanks Jfergus. Anytime you want to put me on to one of those IL. Monsters let me know-LOL! On a serious note, I can put you on to some WI damage hunting near Lake Geneva. Tags come out in Jan and are good until Sept. the land is also open hunting during the regular season.
Rob, Hunting isn't about winning! It's about enjoying time in the outdoors! You contributed to the team! adding points is a bonus, making friends and meeting new people who hunt in other areas of the great land is the reason to be in the contest! sign up for sure! Good luck this fall!
Thanks brother Andrew. I completely agree, it's all about being there. Will give entering the contest consideration overnight.
jfergus, will send you an email with my ph number.....hell, I'm going out this weekend if you want to go. I am 100 percent positive we will see deer. it's a tough spot and stalk, but great fun. you have your WI license for the year?
I'm new to the forum so I need to get my post numbers up and find out more about this contest! Cuz I can lay the deer down and on video!
I haven't killed an buck in archery season 2 of the 3 years I entered the contest here., but I keep coming back:D It's all for fun.
I haven't decided if I was going to buy a WI license or not but now I just might. I got your pm. I have a few crazy days ahead with school starting back up but I will give you a ring soon as I can.
No worries. Went out on Saturday and had lots of fun. Typed to put the spot and stalk on a doe, but got busted. Set up in a natural blind based on where I estimated she would eventually turn up. Hit the doe grunt and was expecting movement from my left and she booked right past me at 20 yards. When in for a shot and closed to 30, but didn't see her until she saw me. No shot, but it's always good to get out.
