Pulled my cams today after my final sit of the season. The only shooter cruising in the daylight hours. Looks like he's a good 8 with a drop on his left beam. On a good note, the doe activity picked up quite a bit. I think the logging on the neighboring land had them messed up this year. Unless she slipped by the cam he wasn't on a doe, got about 8 pics of him as he fed on acorns.
Funny, the 18th & 19th were the same days we had pics of 2 different cruisers that we'd never seen before. Both during the middle of the day. Seems like the 15th-25th is always the time when I see bucks show up that we've never seen before. They are there for a day or two and then gone just as quickly.
Was the 3 in the freezer taken on the same land with the dismal sightings? How has the deer activity been in years past?
Yeah same land, I didn't keep count but I probably seen about 15 deer while on stand this year. Compared to years past that is pathetic, been times when I seen that in one sit and I don't have fields or food plots to hunt to boost my count It used to be rare for me to have a sit without a sighting, was the norm this year. Found two dead, possible EHD, but they were also logging the neighboring property.
