Looks like this bow is out! I was just saw it on BHP front page and one of their Prostaff is shooting it next season. I think this will be good for Oneida... they need to get more involved and get newer bows out there. Anyone a Die Heart Onedia Shooter here? What are your thoughts? My dad had one years ago, smooth draw but ugly, heavy and LOUD. It would have to be really cheap for me to buy one, I've just never cared for them. JMHO
The new oneidas are not so heavy. They've toned down the twang too. Even the old ones are smooth as silk. My biggest issue with oneida is that they seem so dis-organized as a company. I own oneidas and a bunch of my friends do too. There have been times when it seemed like the company was doing you a big favor to sell you a bow. (particularly if you're buying a lefty model... which they charge an additional $100) As far as I can tell, their biggest market is to us bowfishers... yet they really don't cultivate that like they should and I think they are going to lose that market if they don't do something. I wish the company well. Maybe the new Falcon will do it for them. I love my Osprey.
I have an old H250 and gave it to my father to hunt with it this past fall. He will hunt with it again next year (or is planning to). When I thought I had the money for a new bow next season, this bow was on my short list to see and shoot. Not sure I can afford to purchase my own brand new bow unless something changes. I have head from one reseller that they personally have switched to the Falcon line to hunt with. They like the draw cycle compared to other Oneida's. Wish I could spread more technical specs on this one however, I can not.
Wow, they are a bit pricey. http://www.oneidaeaglebows.com/products/item.php?PID=10 Do you know what's different about the draw cycle?
Christine - Unfortunately, I do not recall the 2 models he specifically compared it to. Since I have never shot the other models, I was only able take part of the conversation away. I did ask about being able to see it and shoot it. Since there were no Oneida shooters in my area, it would be a challenge. he invited me his shop however, it's in Maine I may e-mail him this weekend and ask. I'll pass along the response in this thread.
