Not many know here, but the last 11 weeks my wife and I have been taking care of her mother in Hospice. My MIL had pancreatic cancer. My wife moved in 11 weeks ago, and the kids and I stayed at our house. In 11 weeks nobody died and nobody went to school with dirty underwear, so I did alright. Today one of the nicest people you'll ever meet left our world to be with God. In 11 weeks she never complained once, if fact she apologize to me many times for causing stress in my family, yes she apologize. To take care of a parent to their end is a tough road, My MIL was only 64. There was joy today for her, I am so happy she is with Jesus, in fact right before she died goose bumps covered her body, I liked to think it was reaction of her seeing Jesus. My MIL was terrific to my kids and me, I was really lucky. I share this with you guys if you ever have to do this, shoot me a note, I'll tell it like it is to you. It was hard, really hard, my wife took FMLA, but I worked. Working and doing it all at home gave me new respect for single parents and I do not ever want to be one. Germ
Condolences to you and your family. My dad is 77 and home bound on full time O2 Mom takes care of him and I sort of take care of both of them as much as I can. It's rough but I'm glad they're both still here. It's sucks watching parents grow feeble.
Sorry to hear this Germ.... and in a time like this the thread/post was very inspiring... again sorry for you and your Families loss....
Thoughts and prayers with you and you family buddy. Cancer is such an evil disease. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry for your loss Germ. I went through that with my Pop. Hospice care is a full time job. I had to take care of his every need, everything. The home care nurses helped big time, but there was still MUCH that I had to tend to myself for his last three months. It's tough to watch anybody live out their final days, but I was there for my Pop, holding his hand as he took his last breath, which I'm thankful for.
Thanks Bud. It's great to hear she had such a positive impact on people while she's was on this earth. God Bless Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
my Sister and I spent 12 weeks doing the Hospice thing, with my Mother, hardest thing I ever did. Glad I did it though, Really got close with her and she helped me let go of her also !
