If you could have gotten that ordeal on film with a second camera, I would have paid really good $$$ to watch it. :D
So far I don't think I can really say that I have anything that I wouldn't do again. A very likely not do, which is use a rifle to take another deer in PA. But you never know, I may want to pull out the ol 1894 & have at it. But for now, pistols & shotguns will do (and if legal it would be all pistols, but sadly it's not in some areas I hunt. But that is a different gripe.)
I don't think I'd ever go to Maine to hunt black bears again. I know I had a particularly bad experience but I didn't see one bear in six days of hunting. In fact I didn't see much of anything. A couple birds and a pine marten. It was sooooooo boring. I also kind of promised myself never to get married again. :D
I'll never try to use a mouth call while enjoying a chew again. Nearly choked to death that morning. I'll never move another stand in the summer months w/o checking for wasp nests.
hmmm... One thing I will never do again is compare my hunting standards on anyone elses. I will also never let a trespasser go again. Giving one guy a break instead of calling the CO, led to more trespassing. If I see someone on the land that shouldn't be there, I'm calling the po-po :D
Jeff, you mean if you hit/wound a doe on opening day and don't find her, you're done hunting deer for the year?
He means if he shot a deer while hunting and has yet to recover that animal, that if another animal presents a shot he will not take so as not to taint the recovery process.
I get it now. Thanks. I did think that would be a bit extreme.:D The one thing I will NOT do again is shoot a buck that I don't REALLY want to kill.
Just thought of another one. I'm not going to shoot my longbow any more. (feels like someone is jamming a knife into my shoulder joint when I draw it) Anybody want to buy a left-handed longbow?
