....That you know you'll never do again!

The "Draw the line" thread got me thinking about this! There's so many things I want to do like bear hunt over bait or with dogs, run dogs for coyotes, use a guide up in the Yukon to chase Moose or shoot another Kudu in Africa, sit over a food plot somewhere in Iowa or on a sendero in Texas and even kill some critters with a crossbow. But, what is one thing you've already done that you know you'll never do again because of the cost or the lack of desire to do it again?

-Gun hunt on crowded public land

-Attend my father-in-law's gun deer camp. Yeah I know.... doesn't really apply

-Right now I have no desire to waterfowl hunt. I once was into it bigtime and spent most of the fall in the marsh. My desire was wailing even before I started bow hunting but now I have NO desire. I have a lot of money sitting there in decoys, calls, etc., that has not been used in five years. Maybe I will get back into in when my boy gets older;but only for him. I would much rather be in a tree with my bow. :)

I dont think I will ever hunt whitetails in South Texas again. I will probably never hunt ducks in Stuttgart, Arkansas again either.

Hunt from a climbing stand with a severe case of the flu!

Also, my shot selection has changed since I started hunting.

As far as what or where or how I will hunt. I hate to say "never" and want to stay open to new experiences.

I agree w/ GFY on the waterfowl hunting. I enjoyed it when I didn't have a place to deer hunt, but I don't like the meat. Ducks are also a real pain in the butt to clean. I just made a mess of them only trying to get the breast off.

I also won't turkey hunt again. Didn't enjoy it.

This also reminds me; I've got a nice pair of wadders just sitting in the closet I should sell off.

Not sure. At 12 years old I gun hunted for the very 1st time for whitetails. That lasted 2 hours that morning, I've never had the desire to do It again and that was 23 years ago. I can't say I'll never do It again though as there could be a day when I can't pull a bow back.

Shoot a doe with a fawn, any time of year. I'll shoot the fawn first if I have to shoot one of them or kill them both. I had one under my tree for 1/2 hour bawling away after I shot its mother one year. Call me soft but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Early season feral hog hunt in Florida. When living there I hunted hogs because there wasn't much else to do. It's hot, but like to another level of hot you've never experienced. You sweat when sitting still, the wind makes you sweat, it's horrible. The mosquitos are big enough to carry you away. Finally, while hunting you have to contend with the various fun critters of the swamp. Hunting is fun almost no matter what, but that was miserable fun.

Ask me in ten years. Haven't had the vacation time or the money to do something that would once in a lifetime. As far as general bowhunting, I won't ever be a casual bwhunter again, for any reason. I can't reasonably see how it's possible for me.

When I first picked up a Longbow and started shooting I was like, hey, this is pretty cool! So I started shooting daily, really wanting to shoot, with plenty of practice and confidence I went to the woods with my Longbow in my hand, I knew from that day on I'd never hunt with a compound again, no desire what so ever! The Longbow just does it for me!

    1) I'll never hunt with a compound, again. I know that. It just isn't interesting to me, anymore. No offense to those who do it and love it. I'll firearms hunt, before I take a compound afield again (I want to take a deer with my pistol).

    2) I'll never attempt to take another game animal, if I've previously shot one....and I haven't yet recovered it.

    3) I don't "think" I'll ever take another turkey with a shotgun. Like No. 1.....it simply interests me not.

I hate to say "never", also, MM. That's good stuff. I don't know where EXACTLY my hunting will take me. But I know I'm in a pretty good place, currently.

Tough to say. At this point in my life, I've yet to hunt any animal, or with a weapon, or a tactic I could say I'll never use/do again. There are things like hunting with a firearm or over bait that I have no interest in doing today, but I can't say I will never use either of those tactics again. Life changes and I can't predict the future.

Tried to cross a flooded creek in an inflatable boat at 4 am in the pitch black, capsized, destroyed my $3500 camera, and nearly died. That I will never try again.

Not sure. I told myself many years ago that I would not kill a fawn. Well I did this year on a 200 yard or so long stalk hunt. I became so focused on the stalk/kill that I didn't realize it was a small fawn until I came up on it after the shot.

I love bowhunting and in fact have not hunted with a gun in 5 season, but if I lived out west or somewhere with a ton of animals to hunt in differing environments, I may pick up a gun. I don't regret anything I have done in the woods, minus stupid shots. So yeah, the only thing I won't really do again is shoot straight down onto a deer.
