so how often do you feed her? And I am really curious how you capture the hawks in the first place?

Great pics as usual! Is Moca pretty consistent as far as where she nails the rabbit. I know a rabbit isn't terribly big but curious if she always gets them in the head or if she barely gets them at all sometimes.

She misses a lot more than she catches that's for sure. Where she grabs them usually depends on which way the rabbit is traveling. If it's running away from her she most of the time will get it by the back end. BUt no matter where she snags it by, after she has it, she will usually work her footing up to its head. If I let her crop up on it she always starts eating either the front shoulder or the head first.

I feed her everyday. I buy frozen day old chicks, rats and mice from RodentPro that I'll feed her when we run out of rabbit. I keep the hind quarters and back straps for myself and I've been freezing the front shoulders and the heads and will feed them to her over the summer as well.
Catching them is pretty easy but I don't like explaining it on a public forum. Trapping them is against the law if you don't have a falconry lisence and the permits for it.

Awesome! I have always been fascinated with falconry. We have a pair of red tails that nest behind our house. Loved watching them teach the fledglings to hunt last year!

After all these posts & pics I really feel bad that I don't have any better descriptors besides "awesome, just awesome".
