I've had it for about 7 years. I bought it with all the bells and whistles and ended taking everything off of it. I love this stand. I tried a couple different seats then I made this one. I think it's going to work out the best.

That looks pretty snazzy. I know I am dating myself by using descriptions like that.

I've never got a buck and a doe in the same season but this year I'm going to try my best to do it. If we all can do that we can win this thing!:nana:

I got a stand hung yesterday.

Had the big 8 and the split brow tine buck on camera numerous times, mostly early morning and late evening pics but I know where they are.

The food plot which was a total experiment did not work. The seed just didn't take, probably partly the soil and partly the dry weather we've been having. I have been food plotting for 4 or 5 years now and this is my first failed plot. It happens - I didn't get a soil sample but it honestly wouldn't have mattered as I can't get equipment to this plot and thus getting lime and fertilizer to the plot is a challenge. Oh well, probably won't mess with it next year.

Going to hang a few more stands at a different property here soon.

    Have a good weekend guys!

    ***official team #1 thread***

    Hung 2 more stands today.

I don't do a great job with scent control. I don't do a good job on hunting stands based on wind.

But one thing I am obsessive about is my entry exit. I will go to great lengths to place stands based on a good entry exit strategy. Now some stands you just can't avoid it a lot of times I will still hang a stand.

So one stand I hung this week the entry and exit are about a half mile long and up the hill 80 yrd to my stand. I can hunt that stand and a deer never know any different and I love that.

Another stand I walked a mile to my new stand location. Half mile in a deep ditch (8 to 10 feet on both sides) that is mostly dry during hunting months. That empties out into a larger creek, walked the creek another half mile to the most prominent crossing point on the entire creek. Stand overlooks the creek and the paths leading up. Even bumped a deer crossing at 3 pm when I was getting in to put it up.

Love planning entey and exit routes, if only I could do better in scent control and hunting the wind.

I'm not good with scent control either. I hang my stands high and have never seen a problem except the trail where I came in, when they hit it they stop and get all fidgety. I've even used a drag and when they hit it they turned around and left. I like to be about thirty feet up and I've never seen then wind me.

I always use scent killer gold and hunt the stand thats best for that days wind condition. With the climbers I have now I dont think wind will be a problem any more to me climbers make you that much more flexible. By the way I shot today from one of the climbers I picked up last week. I went up about 15 feet just to get the feel for it they work great:D I think im gonna pull a Bob an modify the seat because its real close quarters when turning etc so im gonna scoot them back some kinda way.dont know if its gonna be safe to drill new holes for the seat or use Velcro or zip tie it in further back debating on that. Im shooting very well as of today very confident an accurate. Hope you guys have your rigs fine tuned an y'all are having a great weekend.

Jeff I didn't drill anything. I wrapped the cloth and sewed it on, that way i can push it out of the way when i stand to take a shot and pull it out when I want to sit. I'll take pictures in the morning to show you what I mean.
