You've been busy my friend an sounds like your on the right track your talkin all the right factors man an sounds like the deer are frequent in your neck of the woods so with some good scouting underway an a camera set your off to a great start. Stay at it but most of all remain safe no matter what. I am also thinking about taking to public land I need to get a parking permit to be able to access it other than that im goin for it too. This will be my first year hunting public land for deer I have hunted public land for turkey with little success.

Went out scouting today for a place to put a stand where that big brutish deer that I have seen has been crossing. Found a nice secluded hollow where he comes up to a grassy point. Got to do some more scouting but the area looks promising. Lots of deer traffic now it just needs to be the right one. Have a few more stands to put up just looking for the right locations. Going to Maine with friends for a bear hunt the week of Labor day so I will probably put the stands up after I get back unless time permits beforehand. Do bears count as bonus points?

Just curious, does anyone have deer tick problems like we do here in Mass. they are horrible. I can't tell you how many times I've been bit. Most of the time they just bite though (I must taste like crap). I've been using Permethrin, this stuff is awesome! You spray it on your clothes and let it dry, it will last six washings or like five weeks. Since I've started using it I haven't had any problems with ticks.

I've heard very good things about it also and I will be using it this season. As for tick problems well lets just say they're some lime disease packing jokers because there has been multiple people who have been in the hospital and the did say it is from deer ticks. Hope everybody is ready for that because we dont need anybody goin down behind this horrible disease.

Yeah we have a big problem here in Delaware but I use the same stuff I think. It's Sawyers and I spray everything down, let it dry and have a crap ton of ticks on my pants but all dead! That stuff is amazing!

Same here, ticks galore. I have been using Permetherin also but mainly during turkey season in the spring. Those buggers are out in force then. As it is getting colder in the fall I have not treated my clothes.

I usually find ticks on me before they dig in and get me, or at least I try to get them first. I don't put anything extra on to prevent them.

I have more issues with the misquitos than anything else. So I don't go to the tree stand without my Thermacell as it seems to do a pretty good job for me.

I hope to get out of the office fairly early today and go down and check one of my food plots out (see how it is doing), hang a stand and check a camera that has been soaking for a month or so now.

Also will probably hang a couple stands this weekend. I have about 9 stands yet to hang between all of my hunting properties, hope to get a lot of them knocked out this weekend.

Thanks Jeffrey. I aint going to get 9 of them hung this weekend but if I get 3 or 4 of them done I will be happy.

It should be a good card pull, this particular spot has produced 3 of my top 5 shooters so we will see what we got.

Went this morning and scouted a couple of places and found an awesome spot with 4 deer trails intersecting and dense thickets on each side of the intersection. The intersection is actually a point that they use to cross from one hollow to the next. Went to our recently planted food plot it has more activity on it than I have ever seen. We are going to put our stands up then let it sit until the end of September when season opens in WV. Really excited about what we saw this morning.

    Cool Keith!

I just finished making a seat for my Viper tree stand. The one I got with it was always in the way so.....[IMG]
