Like the looks of your buck USAF. Looks like most folks have some good deer roaming around their areas. I don't have any cameras out yet just what I or my buddies have seen driving around. Actually laying eyes on them almost makes my neck start to swell up.

Going out to shoot some arrows, catch y'all later.

Tomorrow after work I'm going to put a trail cam out, and wanted y'alls opinion on where. I only have 1 lock and I'm thinking about putting the other out at my property in KS this weekend, so only one will go out for now. These are two spots that kind of caught my eye. I'm thinking the larger property with the yellow square the area I'm thinking I'll focus on. I'll have to stomp around, but the second piece has a bunch of pine/cedar trees it appears, and some standing water around the timber. 1.jpg 2.jpg

Actually used to live in Gauley Bridge, Fayette Co. Moved to Pike Co. Ky about 7 years ago but work in Mingo Co, WV. Kept my lifetime hunting license in WV and can hunt as a resident in KY. Pretty sweet. I know where tornado is. Mountaineer at heart I suppose.

So I am getting ready to start taking the one arrow approach when practicing. Since you guys are my team mates I want hesitate to share it with you all exclusively. Its basically just as it sounds i prolly want shoot multiple arrows any more this season unless its a new half dozen or dozen but check it. So its like this we bowhunters are after that big buck or mature doe or whatever animal for that matter but honestly how many shots are you naturally gonna get at that animal? You guessed it team one shot most of the time and it is that very shot that you want to meet its mark point blank period then be able to recover that animal with hopes of the best blood trail. So from here on out I will only be shooting one arrow each evening or morning until October 1st. This will put my mind set in the same frame as it would if I were on stand and getting ready to release on a trophy, and thats my approach with practice shooting and it works for me besides I get tired of busting vanes or knocks on my other arrows. Has anyone here ever tried this method?

By the way I got a 2 mile run in this evening for the first time in a few months now im getting ready to go shoot that arrow before dark still plenty light out by the way on the single arrow method you dont have to go pull the arrow out immediately. Go in the house go do something around the house but walk away from that shot with confidence that you made the best shot on that deer/target as possible.

Never tried it but was thinking about starting the same thing this weekend. Wanna make sure I'm completely dialed in then starting next week, with one week left to my opener, I was gonna do that. Not just once a day though. Gonna go out before work, shoot one, go out on my lunch break and shoot one, then in the evening around 745ish, when my deer are showing on cam, shoot one more. Just to be prepared for a little less light too!

Exactly Brian you got the right idea man it works trust me but like I say if you get a new set of arrows then you need to know how each one is flying etc. You'll get her dialed in best of luck.

I nominate you as Captain Bob your avatars looks like a very wise man and very serious fearless leader so I think you would make a good captain already sir anybody wanna second that. In the meantime im gonna try to work up some logos on the desktop if we can come as one on a team name.
