    That's awesome Keith! Exciting stuff!

Has anyone ever save the deer pee from a deer they just shot and froze it for later use? I'm trying to figure out how to save it in the field. I was thinking of putting it in ice cube tray and freezing it then seal them in a freezer bag and use them one at a time.

Well guys an another exciting night on the stand. Got to my stand about 4:15 after work. Settled in and started having does come in about 6:00 p.m. 4 does then another lone doe. After about 30 minutes one doe walks a trail to a ditch where I access the stand. After about 3-4 minutes she comes running right under my stand with her flag waving and taking the other does with her. I thought "what just spooked her". I heard some steps in the thicket adjacent from where she bolted and instantly thought buck so I got my bow and got ready. After a long 5-10 minutes of waiting a blocky black shape appears silently moving toward where the does where feeding. My old nemesis the black bear. Since I have one tag left and these critters are responsible for as much fawn predation as coyotes I was very interested in getting another crack at one. The bear moved into my shooting lane perfectly broadside at 18 yards and the Rage Hypo ripped through both lungs ensuring a quick humane kill culminating in a 30 yard track job. 180 - 200 pound dry sow. It was amazing how tuned up those does where to that bear, how quickly they spotted it and got the heck out of Dodge. I think I need to let the stand sit for a few days before trying it again. I'll post a pic later.

Yes it was exciting and I am having all kinds of luck seeing bear this year but I am obsessed with a huge perfect 8 pointer that I'm guessing goes 140 - 150 that I was drawn back on at 13 yards last year and just didn't have the right angle to pull the trigger. He is still in that area and has been seen and I was hoping to get the early jump on him. O' well, just keep after him.

Left for north Dakota this morning around 5 to hunt birds through Sunday. Surprised to only see a few does in the fields after sunrise. Good luck to those hitting the woods, I'll be back at it soon.

I'm leaving tomorrow night for Ohio opening day of duck so i'll be MIA the next few days but I'm looking to draw blood tonight. Is anyone seeing abnormal signs of the rut in their area? Last night I had some does in a cut corn field and right after dark I had a buck come out trotting nose to grass grunting every step.

Got in the stand this morning around 530 an I had a deer come thru around 630 still plenty dark and the way it was moving it had to have been a buck just too dark to see it was moving fast I coulda stopped it but didn't wanna blow the hunt with shooting light another 30 min away so I just elected to watch him feed around. He worked his way out of the plot and across the road into another thicket and he was gone. Looked to be a small buck anyway but glad to see him on the move!!!!

Im in the stand as I have been a bunch lately, nothing to update or tell...

G280 is still on camera a lot in the early evening after dark. Some how he has seemed to stick to his summer pattern. Other bucks that were in this area have essentially relocated abother 1 mile down the road where we also have cameras.

Anyway, I am in here hunting him tonight. We had a front move in and through with some rain in the past hour - we will see if that can't sparke some early movement. This west wind works for my shooting lanes really well but is a bit risky with the beds to my north west.

Maybe Jeff! Saw a shooter with about 45 mins. Shooting light left. He came in at about 70 yrds to my north and moved behind my stand to the south east. Didn't get a great look at him but was definitely a shooter buck.
