Bob - I understand man, I'd do that too if I worked at Bass Pro. I didn't just do it... Many sleepless nights lol

I am just checking in. I woke up this morning to find I had been assigned to this team. I see we have a Troy on the team; well I am also a Troy. I am a Central, IL teacher with 4 kids. I have been coaching football here for the 5 time defending state champs, but I hung it up this season. The wife and I just adopted a 3 year old boy, Nolan (named after Nolan Ryan, my wife's idol). I hunt three different areas of old farm pastures now heavy with over grown woods. I hunt a farm about 45 minutes southwest of me that holds some monsters. I also spend a good deal of time hunting Lake Sangchris. Had shot a deer between Nov 4th and 11th for about 4-5 years in a row until last year. On Nov 7th I miss a chance at a real beast. Hope to find him again. Good luck to all team members!

Hey guys doing an update from Pa. My season doesn't open for a few weeks which sucks but it gives me a chance to get ahead of some school work before the season. I love coming on here to hear your stories of the days hunting adventures so keep them coming. Im looking to get a doe early and then focus on the bucks. Good luck guys and shoot straight.

Welcome aboard Troy glad your here!!! Hope all of you guys had a great labor day weekend it was kinda slow for me but this week ill be kickin in to high gear just to make sure everything is ready. I will be pulling the card at the Ridge so my fingers are crossed on that possibly moving that camera so im excited about that as its been out for a lil over a month so hoping some bucks have revealed themselves. I will also be starting my mock scrapes at the ridge which will ultimately get them going so basically ill be taking the camera off the minerals and putting it over the scrapes. There is some possibilities that I may install a timed feeder in a location where I cant plant at so im hopeful of that. Still haven't made it out to scout the public land yet but my focus is there as well. We are suppose to be receiving some rain here this week so that will be great for the food plot as it has been dry the last couple weeks so that is much needed. Other than that im just anxious to get this season rollin but all the while anticipating me and the wifes new arrival soon he should be here around Late November maybe the first of December depending on how long he wants to stay put so were super excited about our son coming. My oldest boy will be setting with me hopefully this fall in the blind if he gets his way so thats gonna be fun too he is 9 going on 19. He says dad I want to shoot the deer lol so the next few years we'll be workin on him also. For now he's gonna sit during most of the hunts from the blind to try an get the feel for what its all about. There's nothing like sharing the heritage with your oldest and to one day witness him get his first buck or doe would truly be a blessing. All an all Team I am pumped about Oct 1st its coming fast fellas and we need to be ready so I hope you guys can get out also an get some work done before the show starts. GOOD LUCK TEAM ONE-N-DONE!! An god bless u all.

I didn't do anything hunting related this past weekend, the weather was just too hot. With a cold front moving in this week I hope to get my final stands hung and ready to go. I'd like to have them done much sooner than thus but find myself a little behind this year.

Did do some bass fishing on Friday and did pretty well for fishing in a mile and half long strip pit. Doesn't do our score any good but figures I'd share some of my weekend with ya'all. Hope you all enjoyed the week - won't be long for most of us now! 22 days and counting.

I have the same climber, bought it for $20 off I guy. It is heavy on those long public ground hikes, but in the tree, it is so comfortable. If you want to make a second seat and send it to me as a new member gift, I would take it!

$20????? I paid in the vicinity of $500. It had all the bells an whistles on it that I eventually took off.

And I don't think they have that caliber of deer in Massachusetts! LOL

Well mine is an older steel climber, not a Summit SD or anything like that. It is a bit heavy and it can be loud if I am not careful. But it climbs a tree like a breeze and it is oh so comfortable once up there.

I am not a fan of ladder stands, so I use climbers or hang-on's most of the time

    so....best $20 I ever spent

20 bucks is awesome. I love my climber. To quiet it down some I filled the hollow spaces with insulation foam.

did you cut foam or did you use spray foam?

Just asking? What keeps it from falling out?

I got the spray foam from Lowes. It's a liquid that sprays in then turns to a hard foam. They use it to fill spaces around doors and windows for insulation.
