The final weekend without a November date in it for the next 6 weeks is upon use. Halloween is a Saturday, hope everyone is off.

11 days and I start my all day sits when I am out.

I can only hope to see one like that, so far in 4 sits I have seen squirrels, a mouse, a chipmunk and a rabbit. Unfortunately I'm hunting deer. Busted one coming out of the woods my first sit.

One last weekend on public land and I'm hitting the private land Halloween weekend. Need somehing to get that confidence back up, which at this point would be seeing a deer and not necessarily in range

I'll be out Halloween as well! In the morning only, I have a 5 and a 2 year old. But this coming weekend is start of the NY gun season, so I'm back with a buck tag in the pocket this weekend. Back to bow for Halloween though. Awesome advantage of NY and living on the northern and southern border....you can jump back and forth with the 2 seasons.

I'm off the 31st thru the 8th, hunting 2 prime Illinois properties. Totally different, one is farmland, the other deep remote woods. They're 2 hours apart, but I'll likely be bouncing back and forth depending on which has the better action. IT'S ON!!!!!

When it's over, I should look something like this

What county is that outfitter in again?

Don't forget the time changes during the drive there

Hope you drop a 180+, hopefully you get to update a little more than you were able to last year. Going to be glued to the board that entire week looking for IL updates, start my vacation on the 6th and it is in the woods dark to dark until I get it done or run out of time. Weather be damned this time. Might give the dog to my brother for the week and stay in town saving a 50 minute drive each day.

Pro's are saying 10/27-11/8 or something will be prime, with peak a week starting 11/7.

I know Halloween through shotgun 1st season is usually money

Yea I'm hoping luck will change once Nov gets here. For whatever reason haven't been seeing much this year, they're still around judging by cameras but haven't seen much while hunting. I'm trying to decide now if wanna take off the first week of Nov or the second? Last year bucks were really moving around the 4th or 5th on for about week or two. Haveta do some homework and see, wanting to check cameras one more time and if start seeing day time movement then that's when I'm taking off.

One of the perks of working for buddies really don't need to give much notice.

I'm committed to 11/6-11/16. Could probably change it if I wanted to, but have killed all my bucks between 11/5 amd 11/19.

    A bit superstitious

I have to work tonight and I am off the next 10 days with nothing but hunting to keep me busy! Can not wait to get up in a tree all day and just relax and watch the deer running all over the place. In Oklahoma I expect the rut to start this week and be at its peek with the full moon. It will be muzzleloading season here but thanks to everyone one here I am more determined than ever to get a bruiser with my bow this year. The ole smoke pole might just stay in the safe this year:tu:

I'll be in KS oct 30-nov. 20....hoping to get it done again this year. Last year the woods were on fire nov.1-8th. I'm hoping for similar circumstances this season.

Could see another big bout of cold air Halloween weekend. Unlike this last one this one will be die to a low pressure system on he east coast rather than high pressure. Down side is it would have some winds with it. Only one or two models showing this, but this one is a pretty reputable model. Those on the east coast probably heard it mentioned a lot as it was the one model that kept the last hurricane well out to see while the others had landfall.

I can root for a cold snap. These are upper air temps, but precip would fall as snow all the way down to GA if there was any. Likely wouldn't accumulate though.
