I have permission to hunt some ground I have not seen this year and have only hunted once ever. I know an 8 pointer has made it through gun season. Is there any tips out there? Anyone else still going at it?

Funny, at 4:45 or so I took a rather long shot at the closes doe, I was a bit further than I thought....but...I was so cold that I figured if I shot and missed, they would run off and I could warm up. I had been watching 2 deer for over and hour, they were about 200 yards out. I had hand warmers in my pouch and I thought I would get them out and stick them inside my gloves. While this was happening a 3rd deer (doe) walked in about 100 yards in front of me to the right. I was wearing a double layer of gloves, so I put the warmers in under the thin layer. I had my left gloves back on, but then 7 deer (in the picture) came in from my left. I never got the second glove back on the right and as I got my release back on, my hands started getting cold (mainly fingers). As the 7 made there way to the right and joined the solo deer, the left my area deep to the right (picture). As they left, 8 more ( in two groups of four) made their way in from the left just as the other group did. I think around 12 was the most I could see at once. After my shot came up way short, the last 8 ran back to the left. 20 minutes later I drove off...I could still see four to the east and as I turn the first corner, I could see the last 8 running into another herd of over 10. No idea how many I saw on the day, but over 30. Great spot! I wish I had came 90 minutes later and had hand warmers from the start. Also wish I had used my climber in a transition area...no good shots to the feeding areas. All the stands that were up, were set up for shotguns. Will add a few pics soon.

Just wanted to mention that I see at least 4-8 deer only minutes from my home, this has to be part of the deer plan and that they "know" the season is over!
