If that is all you could have for the whole season (one hangon and one tree), where would you put it? And do you think you would be successful from it? Multiple deer?

This should be interesting. Just how good are you at picking that one tree that "will" produce time and again?

Now this is a good one! Sure will be interesting to see what everyone says....obviously there is gonna be a ton of answers.

I would say either on a swamp edge where it pinches down or any pinch point or saddle with high deer usage;)

I would just pick and a tree that works for all wind directions and has a lot of deer walking by during all times of the season.

Shouldn't be too hard to find should it? ;)

for me i think it would be on the edge of bean field, always going to be deer there, its secluded, and big bucks are known to be around there.

I would put that stand right over a giant buck's bed. That way, as soon as it got light enough, I could shoot it.

Just think about it like this. You have hunted and scouted all over your property. Now the beginning of a new season rolls around, and the above choices are all you have for the entire season. Where will you go?:D How long do you think your success will last?

i grew up in wisconsin we had 250 acres right next to a big public land section. there was one fence row that ran across a big open field from the public land onto our land. i put a stand up in that wooded fence row first time in it opening day rifle season i shot a 151" ten point, the next year opening day same stand 173" twelve point. it worked like a charm as soon as guys showed up to hunt the public. the big bucks would head for cover right down the fence line right in front of me. i will always hunt this spot simply because its a perfect example of a exscape route. big bucks flee upon being pushed. and im right there to ambush them.

Man..I usually hang MULTIPLE stands, like upwards up 50, more than that, some years- and, thats not counting the trees I only use climbers in. In fact, I pullet over 3 dozen stands this spring and I still have more out there than I can count.

And, I'll tell ya what- I generally dont hunt but a small percentage of them. Maybe I get caught up in hunting spots that I "think" "should" produce, maybe I go crazy when hanging stands..Who knows...

Now, if I were to be limited to hanging ONE stand, in ONE tree and only hunting that stand all season- naturally, I'd hang it in a zoo, near the feeding troughs :)

Right where I have my main ladderstand sitting. about 5 yards in the woods, over looking a corn and clover field. Numerous deer have been taken out of this spot both bow season and gun season. For some reason the deer on our property love this NW corner of our property. I think its because its concealed by a cornfield and offers a great food source wich the deer are already destroying. Come harvest time of the corn the deer will really be hammering the corn. I cant wait!!!

This would be an easy decision for me. I'd go back to my old standby tree. Killed a lot of deer out of it over the years and there is no reason why I wouldn't continue to do so.

The 500 ac I hunt has on has an unreal bottleneck in the middle of a ridge. This bottleneck will work with all winds but one a dead south wind. I could hunt this spot all season and kill bucks and does.

A place near our Camp on a mountain bench, called Porcupine Tree. Between Dad and I we have probably taken a Dozen or more Bucks from that stand. (Public Ground)

LA Equalizer: I don't think there's a tree on this planet that you could kill a deer from.

I have a fence row stand on a small 35 ac patch of woods that has really been good to me. It consistantly produces deer. There is an overgrown field just to north, with an old road just on the other side of the fence that deer use when returning to their beds. Three hollows connect just 30yrs into the woods with multiple deer trails. There are lots of large white oaks, green briars and honeysuckle in the vicinity. A few years back I kill three deer from that stand. Last year, got skunked. It was my fault; I did'nt hunt it enough.
