Hey guys I shoot black eagle rampage 300 with a 27 inch draw and shortly under a 27 inch arrow at #70 I'm right on the line between 350-300 should I got with more spine or less spine for better flight out farther ? Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Go with the 300 and put a brass HIT insert in the arrow to break the spine down a bit more and give you more KE.
Well I was thinking of ordering new arrows because I already have 300 and I thought I needed 350 can I throw a 125gr head on it instead of pulling inserts out ? Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I found myself in a similar position. Right on the line between 300 and 340. The chart instructions say to round up the 29.5 inch arrow length to 30 which then calls for a 300 shaft, but the box says that they are good to 70 pounds. My solution is to leave them the alone and try them out. I have enough extra length that I can shorten them my a couple inches if need be.
I like to go heavier. Quieter, more kinetic energy are both factors for me and on the line, I'm going heavy.
It is hard to be over spined, easy to be under spined. FWIW I shoot the same Axis 300 w/50gr insert from my 70# and my 60# bow. Both bows shoot them great. If I was on the edge I would go stiffer. If you have the 300's already going to a 125 tip would work. I actually would prefer it.
