    Just read Lonesome Dove, started into Streets of Laredo. Watched Legends of the Fall and Dances with Wolves...works been slow, anybody got anything i may not have heard of?

    One last thing. If you can rent/borrow the series Deadwood and watch it from the beginning. You will not be disappointed.

    The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly....was terrible. Ive tried watching it 3-4 times and i just cant do it.

    Tombstone is a deffinate plus, well anything with Sam Elliot is awsome Imo. Also try wyatt earp with kevin costner pertty good.

    Louis L'Amour...He writes a good western. I'm not much into movis but I love to read.

    If you're into reading.. I'd have to concur with the above nod to Mr. L'Amour... I've always been partial to the Sackett series by him.. particularly Galloway Sackett.

    Movies...

    Most of what was already mentioned is great but I'll mention a few more of my favs.

    -The Cowboys is a great one... Bruce Dern plays a ex-con you just want to kick in the teeth.

    -The Magnificent Seven.. A stellar cast and great flic

    -The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.. one of my favorites.. old black and white western featuring Wayne and Stewart.

    -The Searchers.. just fun to watch

    -Young Guns series is always entertaining

    Buttunbuckmaster mentioned Posse.. which is just a terrible movie.. but entertaining.
