Had the plot prepped and waited for rain in the forecast to seed and yesterday was the day to do it. Got some pics on my phone this morning and seeing them definitely is the last thing I expected. Flock of crows eating the seeds or atleast looks like it. Is this going to be as bad as I think? Or is this normal? Plot is 1 acre so this half they are on is WI Pure Attraction in which I used a bit more then they recommend so I'm hoping this helps. Thoughts ?
That's a lot of crows! Not sure what is in Pure Attraction but I don't know that crows like real small seeds.
That's pretty crazy. I can't imagine they would put that much of a dent in the number of seeds you put down, but I can't say for sure.
Did you cultipack or lightly disc the seed in and roll it? If not, you likely have a problem. That many crows will pick up a lot of seed.
Funny you say that, the side they are all on is the side where the seed needed to be lightly covered. I used a fence drag and buried the seeds. The left side of the pic is clover/chicory and it needed not to be covered and they aren't touching it.
Wow never seen something like that! That's a lot of crows. Never thought they would be competition for the deer.
