Once I reach full draw I feel like I have a slam dunk. For me the confidence level is most lacking in stand placement. Is this the right tree? Should I move to the other side of the ridge? Should I hunt in the bottom today? That kind of thing. Once I get a deer in range, get drawn and start settling the pin, I'm good to go.

9 out of 10. In the back of my mind I know there is always a chance something could go wrong

I expect myself to make the shot and don't allow any self doubt to creep into my mind.

This only works if I limit myself to shots I am comfortable taking.

Exactly right man, we've all missed or we're going to at some point... it happens. But if you don't tell yourself it's in the bag, you might as well let down and go home.

I always say good night right before I touch off, regardless of gun or bow. My uncle told me that one time and I thought it was kind of cold, but he explained it as it's guaranteed that the lights are going out...I will tell you it is kind of funny when you put a good night out there only to watch the deer bound off, or just look around like what was that. Ain't nothing more humbling that going from pissing excellence to a big slice of humble pie. I am a 10 at all times, but the results range anywhere from a 0-10.
