Hey all! I just replaced the battery in my Iphone vs shelling out $$ for a new phone. But I got wondering what to do with an old phone if you do upgrade. I saw an article after googling this very thing, and one of the most popular things was to use an old phone as either a dashboard cam, or a security camera. I then wondered if it could be used as a trailcam. I found one company that had some items to do it, but it didnt seem cost effective.

Has anyone here tried this or toyed with the idea?

Would think battery life would be an issue.

Battery life and weather would be first two issues, third would be a triggering mechanism

I would not trust a "smart phone" for anything let alone a trail cam.
