ok, I found this this spring with my metal detector at a spot on my ground that there was a old wood and grist mill in the 1840's I think it is a cog that maybe turned the large wheel that held the stone wheel in the center which i have a few of in the sidewalk of the old farm house here. here is a couple of pics.
