I scored it 3 times..twice at 229...once at 231. I've never scored a nontypical like this so I hope its correct. I'll get the numbers on the score sheet.

That's impressive. I'd at least be sleeping in the same room or just sitting there staring at it.

It's only a matter of time until F&S or Outdoor Life calls you up.

Well what did you expect would happen when we have the captain of team KILL on out team! I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be adding at least 130 this weekend. Also more does need killed! We have lots of points available with them!

Looks like we've got a little momentum! It's Bama week and I can't miss that but I am pumped bc I will be in the woods the next weekend! I feel like a "closer" for this team though bc my best time to shoot a buck will be around January or so

That's awesome MN!! Buck of a lifetime for sure!!!!! Did you know he was around?

I'm getting a few trail cam pics of bucks during the daylight... Ended up going to church with the family Sunday morning and there ended up being a borderline shooter walk right past my stand Sunday AM.... Maybe something better is in-store :-)

Planning to hit it tonight and tomorrow evening (that's the plan at least).... Good luck everyone! This is the time of year we dream of!!!

I sure did. Didn't shoot anything but I've had a couple of my two best sits the last two nights - covered in deer - just no shooters... So the deal is that I moved one of my old ladder stands (hung 6ishyears ago but only hunted like twice) around into an old abandoned grove that still has about 120 acres of corn next to it... Started hunting it years for a few reasons - long story.. Anyway - I passed two smaller 4x4's yesterday. Tonight I had does literately licking the bottom of my ladder stand... The best part of tonight was... So I'm sitting in my ladder stand just trying to hold on (wind was guesting into the 40's) and I stood up and looked behind my stand... Thought something looked funny and sure enough I picked out a buck bedded with a doe - on this area of dirt/rock by the river - they are just hiding next to an old dead tree that 'landed' there due to some past flooding - crazy spot to bed... So I put on an epic stalk... Snuck across an open pasture then literally walked up the river (it's not real deep - though the mud was challenging) - popped up about 30ish yards from the buck... Had a marginal shot through the edge of the dead-fall for just a couple of seconds before he turned and saw me and busted out... I kinda hesitated a little bit - shot was iffy and I thought he was a little bigger when I glassed him from 250 yards - though now I'm wondering what my goal really is this year as I haven't got anything of much size on the cams... Here's a couple of pics. First one is a pic I took from my tree stand before I started, I came around the bend in the river to the right of the downed tree.. I've got a bunch going on the next 4-5 days - next planned hunt is a full day sit on Veteran's day - this coming Tuesday...

I think this was maybe the deer - if not, it was really close in size...

Sounds like better temps this weekend Dan. I am sure looking forward to some colder weather in which to hunt. Enough of these 65 degree days.
