Thursday I had to turn in a bid for a construction project that was about 3 hours from the house at 2pm. Know that there was no way I was going to make it home for work, I tossed my 9' 4wt, hand made TFO fly rod in the truck to hit the Illinois River to see if I bring home a couple rainbows for the grill. The fishing was slow, several anglers came and left because it was so slow, but with scenery like this... who cares? These pics were taken with my Canon SD870... I love it

Very nice Dustin.... I really wanna do some fishing but we have been slammed with rain the past several days and it is going to be awhile till the streams get slowed down and cleared up a bit. If we don't get any more rain this week (not gonna happen), they might not be too bad next Sunday. I am kinda limited to one lake near my house to fish as it is mostly rock bottom and doesn't ever really get muddy.... it just also happens to be a lake that is hit by tons of speed boats and jet ski's... makes the fishing tough!

Where are you at in Iniana County? I just checked some streamstats and the LIttle Mahoning Creek, Conemaugh River and Blacklick Creek are all fishable right now.

I am right out near Two Lick Lake, I was hoping to fish Yellow Creek (the stream) or possibly Brush Creek down towards Brush Valley. I honestly don't see how Little Mahoning could be fishable right now, we had to have got close to 2" of rain on Friday, and probablly another 3/4" today. The farmland around the streams helps it to flood very easily and the run-off makes it very muddy when the other streams are just a little cloudy.

Very possible that its muddy, i was going solely off the current flows. Hopefully you'll be able to get back out there sometime this week.

If you weren't such a whuss, you could accompany me for free fly fishing lessons and by lessons, I mean a schooling. I suggest you catch fish near home before venturing to NM again :D
