    Saturday was my last day for now. I will be back out in a couple weeks, but the property we hunt on is going to be invaded! Shotgun is next weekend, and I don't feel all that comfortable hunting in a tree with 8 guys with shotguns, walking around.
    We met them this weekend. They came in at about noon, they wanted to move a box blind. Nice guys, but I just don't see the point in it. They set up two guys on one side. Then the others go to the other side, and walk towards them.
    Doesn't sound right. Not hunting in my book.

    Not to mention, I don't own orange. It makes me look fat.

    But, in addition to the shotgun season. I am just a little befuddled as to what we have seen this year.
    I got to "practice draw" on a yearling, two weeks back. but that was the only one we have seen that was close enough to shoot! Wouldn't do it, but I won't say I didn't think about it.:confused:
    Then on saturday morning, my dad watched one sneak about 50 yards away. He said she sounded like a horse going through the thick crap. But, that was it!

    It was too dang warm outside lately. It did snow a bit, about a week ago. But then it went back to 70 the next day.

    Now they are calling for snow again, on friday. Good luck to the shotgunners. I just can't do it.
    Doesn't sound safe to me.

    So, I pulled my camera, locked up the stand, and we will be back in a couple weeks. :cry:

    that's what we up here, call a drive. can be dangerous if the gunners are'nt aware of where the drivers are. that happens during reg. gun season. You can here the drivers whooping in the woods, scaring the deer up towards the gunners.

    I know the feeling. Our rifle season opens on the 22nd.

    I will NOT be going home that weekend. It's just too hectic.

    I know its called a drive, and yes, it sounds dangerous. Like I told my wife. If I am ever out, and someone starts shooting my direction. I take that as a threat... Then its my turn. And I can't imagine the "business end" of an arrow feeling to good.:smash: (she worries about things like that)

    This land is not that big. Luckily, as far as the "nervous" deer go. If they get to the property line, they are good. The guy on the east side, hates hunters. To the west is a property that doesn't get shot up. To the South is the Wildlife Refuge (Safest place to be) Can't even walk into there. The only way they could go to a non-safe area is North. That land is more shotguns. :deer:

    Talking to these guys, they say they take about 8 off the property every year. That is one for each of them. Not too bad. The said they don't get the bonus tags, they don't like taking all day to clean deer. (Lazy...:d )

    Pretty colorful group though. Seem to have their heads on semi right. But, far be it to me to judge anyone on that scale. :lol:

    Shultzy: This season is not being to kind to me anyway, I could take it or leave it. I am just looking forward to the colder weather after the season is up. That has to help something. Maybe there will be some real bad weather for these guys. Keep them out of the woods. {fingers crossed}
