Several things happened Germ.. but the biggest factor was the end of high protective tariffs.. which moved our manufacturing businesses and everyone else overseas.. cause over there.. bigger companies can pay people less and give less benefits - in a nutshell. As far as the top 1% not paying their share.. many of them are not and they should. But there's this extreme right-wing Republican faction out there that tells you why they shouldn't... arguing its capitalism at its purest.. and people making $60,000 a year defend these same people. If that IS capitalism at its purest.. then why did WE bail out the banks with OUR tax dollar. Isn't these banks failure part of pure capitalism... funny I don't remember the extreme right-wing Republican party saying this when they were in trouble. Cut the partisan politics... both these parties don't give a damn about you.. me... us. As far as Obama's vid.. do you guys not get out much. Obama is NOT the first president-elect to bid for the black vote.. but obviously youtube wasn't available years ago and certainly wasn't used as a mainstream way to get your political views across. I admit he was a bit over the top for my liking.. but that's it... no biggie considering he's a politician and they ALL lie anyway. EVERY president since african americans were granted the right to vote has done something to win that vote.. even Republicans... the 'great' Reagan included.
It's OK for him to be a racist. What a crook of crap. Thank God they can only elect that slug twice. He says it... they all believe no matter how stupid it is. The one thing he said that sounds good.... but we all know he didn't mean it and there's NO way in hell it'll happen was, "everyone doing their share". This is not how a "True" leader should act. He was not elected to represent African Americans. He was elected to represent, and act in a way that best suites the the United States as a whole. In my opinion, he has Never done this during his first 3 1/2 years. It really has nothing to do w. race or sex to me, unless they are more concerned with promoting and catering to their race or sex, as opposed to what is best for our country as a whole. To me, it is unbelievable that the citizens of our country could have had the wool pulled over our eyes the way it was in the last election. I mean seriously, are we so blind we couldn't see through the rhetoric and speech giving skills? People ranted and raved about how well he could give a speech, but they never even took into consideration WHAT he was saying, it was all about how he was saying it. The media played such a big roll in that too. Personally, I'm more concerned about what somebody is saying than how they are saying it. This video doesn't surprise me in the least. I expected nothing better from him, because he has never shown anything better. In a time in which we needed a president to help unite the citizen of our country, he has done the opposite. Videos like this are my proof.
Some of you read way to much into this video, LOL I have watch it twice now to see of I was missing something, I even played it backwords to see if I could hear the devil.
"African Americans for O'bama", like O'bama is the face of African Americans. He likes to think he is, but he is not. And by making stupid videos like the one originally posted, he tries to link himself to the african american plight in our country......which he is not a part of at all. Disgusting. Our country is so twisted on race as certain groups of americans get to use both edges of the sword when identifying with a race and using it as an offensive weapon, whereas others cannot even mention it without risking being labelled a racist. If people cannot see that phenomenon they are friggin blind, dishonest to themselves, or are scared to speak the truth. I am none of those things.
So that's what you get out of it. Interesting Really? What am I missing not to see they above. It looked to my non bias view he was trying to say in a political correct way, "Get up off your asses and take part in this country and stop making excuses" I believe he even mention "the ones before us(and me) sacrifice so we all could succeed" I am going from memory here, so don't quote me. Obama, the man on the moon knows about the issues right now in the African American community, IMO he needs to take a bit of a stonger stance. Yes he's pandering for votes.

Brett, also looking at the list, men were excluded. He has groups for all but caucasians and men. So, if you're a white male (unless you fall in the LGBT group), he's not interested in your vote AND with every other group he lauds his accomplishments for that group, so he ain't done diddly for you. He is basically going with divide and conquer.
It's called the Tea party and my guess is they are not Obama supporters Mit is out in Michigan right now being Mr. Conservative, Mit is so middle of the road it's funny. I like Gov Mit policy's way more than canidate Mit. Onces the general elections begins we will see middle of the road Mit back again. They all pander to a certain group and seperate us. Some by race, wealth, religious and few others. Obama's white male vote he will get from Unions. One of my good friends who is a UAW member and black refers to UAW as U Ain't White. Teachers union, Teamsters, UFCW are all pretty much white and support Obama.
