Whatcha gonna do now? How do you view your chance at success in the late season?

How will you hunt gun season, ( Bow or Gun?), or sit it out?

Glad I don't have to decide (besides a doe tag). I don't think I will hunt doe during rifle, but I would like to get out during the late season some.

One thing for sure, I'am not going to take a rifle out and shoot something I passed with my bow. If I do go, I'll take my bow, but hoping to do some hunting in Ohio?

I'am just hoping the gunners in my area don't shoot every legal buck they see like they do every year? Gets real old passing on bucks, in hopes for next year, only to have the gunners shoot them.

I am not going down without a fight! I week to go for me before the orange army. I'll go out during gun but will be taking my bow. Have no desire to shoot at things with something that goes bang. Or shoot at bucks I've been passing all season. It's crunch time and the clock is ticking, but I'm onto a couple things with a couple different bruisers. Time for me to get aggressive.

I've got mornings of rifle season that will find me with bow in hand. I've got two days that I'll be down at twilds, no pressure from rifle hunters on his suburban deer and then second season, most likely just a few days at twilds if necessary. It's not over but it becomes more difficult at this time. This is only the second time in over 10 years that I hadn't tagged out in archery. I blame seeing that 140" 4.5 twice. I passed 2 3.5 year olds and several 2.5 year olds. Successful and fantastic season regardless.

Sorry Justin, I relinquish my Mr. Reliable title.

I'll be sitting out the PA gun season, I've only hunted with a gun in PA 3x in the last 5 years. Just no interest in joining or competing with the orange army. I'll spend the time in the Adirondack big woods with my inlaws. I'll be back at it in PA during the late season. Only chance of my sitting in PA during the rifle season is if I get a day to go thin the does, we still haven't taken one there and I'd like to kill at least 2.

With that said, I've seen more mature bucks in PA this year than the last 3x years combined. Just couldn't connect it seems, every time they were 40-60 yards out and in places where I had no good ethical shot. It's been a while since I ate a PA tag, but I'm glad I stuck to my standards though instead of shooting a small buck, it's starting to pay off and it's only a matter of time till I put a true slammer down there.

If I have to go after one in rifle season I usually head to public land. No more restrictions as I love to eat them. Normally try to take a doe in rifle season.
I also think the rut is behind and rifle hunters are going to be seeing some big deer.

I will be concentrating my efforts on helping my daughter and niece in rifle season, but will still take the bow when I have time by myself.
