This would be the living room of the house.

There won't be any room over the fire place after he gets his 50" Flat screen up there... :D

Funny you say that. It's 47" actually, but it won't fit. The bottom edge would be directly on top of the mantle. So, the 127" 8 point mount wins. That's his new home.

LOL... I'm sure it will look awesome either way. I have my tv over my fireplace (42") and My deer on the left, and an empty spot on the right for my next one... Whenever that day may be.

    Keep us updated.

looks good. Why not take the mantle down to put the TV there?

I actually discussed that very thing with the builder this evening. The real problem is twofold. 1. It's still to close to the firebox. There isn't a long enough void space from the firebox to ceiling, so not enough of the heat will have dissipated. I'm not gonna cook my TV.

    2. We're not sure there's enough support to anchor the TV to. And then, when you look at the lighting by the mantle, and the ceiling fan.....There's just too much going on around the mantle for the TV.

    Looks great!

I'd make sure that fireplace draws smoke well before putting the mount up :)
