I usually paint up for the first hunt of the year as a tradition then only if it's a really hot day after that and I won't have anything else around my face and neck... Usually I just rock a little scruff and maybe a bandana around most of my face until it's time to shoot. I was painted up when I killed my doe this year though!

I'll agree to a point but I still get a good laugh when people post selfies of their war paint

 

I usually rock the "Bryce Harper" early season when it's hot out, other than that I wear a face mask

 

I found this to work great for getting them up close into knife range.
