Good luck and have fun Danno.

Its funny, I have absolutely no desire to try taxidermy. I was never a fan of art class in school and that's what taxidermy is to me, art. Props to those guys that can do it, and do it well.

Best of luck to Dan. I tried it many many years ago with a crow through. There was this class I took out of one of the magizines and the first project was a crow. Seemed very hard to me trying to make a mont out of a winged creature than a fur one. Aftere 4 or 5 tries I gave it up. Wish you well.

Good luck! Hope it turns out well. I asked my taxi how many hours he averaged on one shoulder mount. He said approx 18.

After doing a few critters myself, I think the coyote might have actually been easier than the deer shoulder mount to start on. You can hide a lot with the coyote's long hair. And there is a lot more detail work and painting to do on the deer mount. Good luck crick.

If you can get one try a full body coon mount. Its a good cheap animal to start with.

    Funny,

I tried my hands at it when I was a teenager and did pretty well. One of the first critters I mounted was a Possum. It really came out good and I had it in my room. My mom saw it snarling in my window sill and nearly had a heart attack... so much for my new career.

Good luck with yours... Great buck too!

Unlike Dan, I do well with art type stuff but, like Dan, I want nothing to do with taxidermy. lol Not at all something I would like to try. Skin them, cut them up, shure, I have and probably will continue to do that part.

I wish you all the luck in the world though and will be watching for updates on it.

Beautiful buck and good luck. Hope everything goes well with it. I've been european mounting bucks for a couple years now and would like to shoulder mount one myself as well. Keep us updated, I'm anxious to see how it turns out.
