Whats wrong with the coverts? Myself and other here use them and love them with minimal problems if any. Not sure of you have used them or not but they are a great camera not sure why you have to try and knock them.

Gothca, I just can't see the point in spending that much on one camera, like already said above you can get 4 or 5 coverts and still get great pictures, but you already pointed out to each "their" own.

I'm not saying I have my mind made up but this guy was looking for a $150 camera. Not a $500 Reconyx.... I run WG, Cuddeback, and Covert and Covert are the best I have found.

WOW. There are a lot of posts in this thread, I can barely read. No wonder the south gets the reputation for being dumb and uneducated. Not that theres anything wrong with that. Oh, and no offense.

The only camera I have in the 150 range, is a M-880 and couple M-990I......I have had decent luck with both them. and for the money they have been ok. One was sent back and replaced. I been looking hard at a couple new Coverts so I might be able to give them good test out this spring and summer. Guys on here seem to do well them.

I hunt two properties out of state, on in CT about 2.5 hours from my house and the other about 10 hours from me in Ohio. We have ran Reconyx hc 500 and 600s pretty much year round for two years without a hitch, something I cant say about almost every other brand I used so far.

No worries he probably couldn't kill a deer out of the Midwest. He'd get a lesson and look like the stupid 1 then.

I still own a reconyx hc500 and it is a great cam. With that being said I own 7 covert cams now also and I don't see much difference between the red 40 cams performance and my reconyx. my two red 40s have been out now since last fall in Wisconsins elements and they keep pumping out awesome pics, you can get 3 red 40s for one hc500. I am not bashing reconyx at all because I still own one and wanted to compare the two, I am just sharing my results. Scoot

I got my first trail cam a year ago, a Moultrie M100. Several months ago I got a Covert MP6. Also got a Moultrie A5 and a Primos Ultra 35 recently. So from my limited experience I'd give Moultrie and Covert a tie. The Covert takes much better daytime photos than the Moultries, but the Moultries take much better nighttime pics than the Coverts. The Primos has done a satisfactory job for what is intended but it is a cut below the Moultrie or Covert.
