I know this is a bowhunting site so I guess I'll post this in the watercooler.. Just thought I'd share my good morning with you all. It was one of those perfect spring sunrises. Finally a break from the rain. After messing around with some jakes, I finally got some longbeards to respond about 100 yards down the ridge. 3 of them strutted back and forth on a hill across the creek from me forever, and I knew they weren't coming any closer. I made a move when they went behind some brush and crawled down the ridge a little. When I got to where I needed to be 2 of the birds were gone, 1 was still there strutting. I started cutting and yelping, he got all worked up and came running down the ridge right at me. 35-40 yard shot, flopped over into the creek. 12 ga. Mossberg 835, 3.5" Winchester HV, 6 shot Time to get after some Indiana birds and call one in for my little brother. Happy hunting everyone... 23 pounds 6.5" beard 7/8 inch spurs SW Ohio
Hey nice bird, congrats!! I had a mossberg 835-3.5 and man what a mule it was. I hated sighting that thing in :d but when you pulled the trigger on a turk you didnt even feel it :d congrats again on getting it done
Congrats bowmanaj!! nice bird I think we're using the same gun, only mine doesn't have the custom sling :d I'm glad you guys got a break, it was still rainy in the central part and windy as hell, too. I didn't get on gobblers until 11:30 It was just like that commercial where the 2 kids are late for school . . only I was running late for a class AND legal killing time was ticking away! Oh well -good luck to your bro and in IN
lol...yea, "you might be a redneck if"...you use a utility rope as a gunsling :d Thanks again everyone
