Hunted this morning till noon, I got skunked! Excellent sign everywhere just none showed up. Only heard 2 shots from the youth gun opener, was hoping to get it done before gun season.

Anyone still see rutting activity? On my way to the stand tonight i saw a nice shooter buck and a young buck chasing a doe across the field.

It's hit or miss for me anyways. I was seeing good action basically every hunt but the past few hunts were slow and got skunked on the one. The public Im hunting is seeing more pressure with gun season approaching and youth already in. Time for the Orange army doing drives. Good luck all.

I'm seeing all does and button bucks, not a single buck sighting in a few weeks. Hopefully they come out again with the second rut and the feeding before it gets really cold.

Was out for a few hours this morning and nothing. Fresh track around my stand but no new cam pics. Last two times haven't seen anything and are the only times I haven't all year. So for me it's slowed down some but hopefully second rut will be productive

For those that gun hunt what is your set up? Just currious what yall take out. I always try to get it done in archery but I go out for a day or two In gun season as well. I shoot a Rem 870 cantilever rifled barrel with nikon slug scope. I just shot in the other day and am getting 1" groups with hornady sst and Winchester dual bonds at 100yds both in 2 3/4. I just switched over from a muzzeloader and couldn't be happier. Hopefully I get a crack at a nice buck with it

He's right but with one more factor. Doe age. We had some starting the last week of October to the 3rd week of November. Our younger girls started earlier and mature right on time. Most were full on by second week.

I only had night time movement this year. So I'd like to put a food plot in for this year. Anyone else use food plots? when is the best time to plant? and what works well for you? Any help would be awesome!

Don't think I've posted here before. So I'll say hello guys because I'm also a Ohio resident.

I hunt the central ohio area on public land and I also hunt the cuyahoga falls area late season.

Just wanted to say hello and get some conversation started. Would live to hear from you guys on what's going on and your plans for this upcoming season.

    Shoots!

Grew up in Ohio, just moved to Kansas. Still come back and hunt the family farm each year. First camera pull in Ohio and this guy came in. Split brow on right side, has potential to be a brute, can't wait to see what he becomes!

    Hey all,

I am planning to come down to Ohio this year for a DIY archery hunt in late October/ Early November. I will be hunting all public land as I have no contacts in OH. I have been busy with work so have not been able to come down to scout. I have been scanning aerials and topos mostly for AEP land near Cumberland/McConnelsville. I am interested in hearing if this is a decent area. I have fairly low expectations for this year other than to begin to learn the property for future years. Anyone in the area have any input?

    Thanks,
    Chad
