Some guys say they have had good luck hunting in windy conditions. I have yet to find this true for myself. The rut is starting in Ohio, and I had planned on being in the stand this week, with this storm over us with 40 mph wind gusts, am I correct thinking that it is pointless to be out till the weather breaks?
I'm by far an expert but I think it is never pointless. Deer have to eat and will move to do so. Plus many other factors can come into play that will get deer moving. Human intervention. Wind shifts. Flooding etc. I think you'll just see less of it. If you can brave the weather I'd go for it. It would be a great day for hunting out of a blind.
Ya we are still getting winds of 25+ today, and it was tuff hunting this am, although I did see alot of Deer, The younger Bucks are chasing and busting doe's, Did see 2 Real Nice 140" Bucks crusing the woods, didnt respond to Grunt tube, Looked my dierection never stoped though, worked a scrape(Primary) both hit it. But the wind cuts right through what I was wearing so Its time to break out the heavey Clothes for tonights sit. Good Luck.
