I love getting after Coyotes once I've filled my tags! I figured someone might enjoy these pictures, Have a great day!
Most excellent! Can't decide if I like bowhunting or calling coyotes more? Heading to Montana early a.m. for a calling tripl What caliber you toteing? Keep stacking em up !
Those are some good yotes. I wish we could use rifles at night. Shotgun only. Can only use lights/night vision between February and May.
Thank you sir, I am currently shooting a Daniel Defense V7pro, Its a .223/5.56 Love the little gun and it shoots crazy accurate groups!
Awesome man, Totally jealous about your trip! Have fun, shoot straight and pile em' high I would love to do a trip out west somewhere and try my hand at some daytime dogs, Its definitely an addicting sport and much like bowhunting there is always something to learn and get better at! Send me a PM and let me know how y'all did ! I'm currently running a .223/5.56 AR as you can see, Love how it shoots but occasionally I would love the extra power of my 22-250 What's your favorite caliber when your getting after these critters?
Its definitely a big benefit to be able to run rifles topped with lights or NV gear, Not going to lie, the cover of darkness is the only reason I see the amount of coyotes that I do... I would have a big learning curve ahead of me if I was restricted to daytime hunting only! And yes rifles at night is another major tool that I am lost without for the most part
Main calling rifle is a custom built 17-204. Have killed about 500 with it and it's an incredible round. Heading out soon.
Wow, I'm sure I will never shoot 500 coyotes in my lifetime let alone with one rifle! Those .204's are a crazy flat little cartridge, Good luck on your trip!
That will be my next thing after deer season is over. Mostly daytime hunting here but I am buying NV equipment this year. My Rock River coyote rifle is a tack driver. Thinking about going thermal. Sent from my SM-T537V using Tapatalk
Our coyotes are pressured and day time hunting is tough. They aren't stupid and everyone and they're grandma takes pop shots at them in the daytime here. I've had very limited success with a shotgun at night. Problem is purely range. They like to come in and sit at about 100 meters while they're buddies circle downwind. Not problem with my AR and 55 gr Hornady's, but with a scatergun your busted.
Not a good trip for calling! Very little snow which means easy access for anyone. That means very educated dogs. Only called in 8 and killed 7. Nice ones though!
