Im not sure if anyone has done this in the past, but i started a social group for ohio hunters, and anyone interested in OHIO hunting....we could post pics and kills of deer throughout our 2009 hunting season and what county they killed their deer in....

Just thought it would be pretty cool...anyone can join..

If I get my KY deer early I planned on going to coshocton myself. Never been there before, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it.:)

i hunt private land....my buddy has a cabin up there that we go to each year..its actually right on the county line between tuscawarus county and coshcton...its a real nice place....he has about 3 or 4 stands set up, one ground blind on top of this hill, which i use for muzzy season...thats about it...but i usually hunt public land around here in erie county..unless i go with somebodies to private places....which is nice...

What bout you..where abouts do you hunt down there?

I haven't picked out a spot yet, but I have heard there are some decent bucks on public land down there. I have to study some maps and maybe make some calls. I was hoping you would say you hunted public land and had that good of hunting because that is what I will probably be hunting. I hope the public land is good. I hunted once before on private property in Ohio down in Adam's or Brown's county. I can't remember which one at the moment. It was close to the line. I stayed in a motel in one county and hunted in the other. A friend was kind enough to get me onto the property. I could have shot my biggest buck ever (that's not saying much), but I was waiting for a 180"+ that was in the area. Although I seen about a 160" that I would have taken given the chance. Unfortunately, so did another guest and the next year he brought a buch of buddies and they blanketed the place right from the begining of bow season so I haven't went back. These guy's have no idea what they are doing, but the place is so incredibly awesome that they will still kill some big bucks. It doesn't hurt that it's next to 3,000 acres that only the local conservation officer can hunt. I was only allowed to set in one of the worst locations on the farm for the opener of the muzzeloading season after Christmas and I still seen 13 bucks the first day. Only 2 were less than 8 points. I only heard 1 shot (on other properties) the 3 days I was there. I was amazed. It would have sounded like world war three up here. I filled one of my doe tags on the third day just for a little meat to help pay for the trip. No need to pay for beef if I can eat venison.:)

haha sounds great...probably all the hunting pressure up there during that late in the season. But to be honest with you ...my experience there on public land, you stilll see a ton of big deer and plenty of does on public land. They do a great job i believe in managing public as they do private. So you still will have a great time and see some monsters im sure. Im serious, if i can help you will let ya know....when i go there next week, ill ask my buddy that lives there, where the best spots on public land would be , and give you some numbers of people that let others hunt their private land, thru management purposes.

Its comin so fast, i feel like i got a lot of stuff to do before then, but i know i dont..haha

I have been shooting everyday and getting things i need. I wish the best of luck to you this upcoming week, and i will for sure let you know what i hear about the public land, and see what numbers i could possible get for you.
