Our gun season starts dec 2nd here in Ohio and it seems the rut has been late this year in my area so do u think they still will be chasing that late or will all the guns throw them off anyways... I was just thinking should I pass if a doe walks by bc there could be a buck behide her or will they all be going crazy???

Anything can happen, but I would say the rut will be over for the most part. I could see doe fawns possibly being chased though since they come into heat later, but for the most part the rut will be over. This is all based on what I have seen at my property in East central Ohio, but like I said anything can happen, and that holds especially true during gun season.

Last week in NE Ohio there was zero rut activity, and the week before that, the same. The rut action has been VERY slow where I hunt this year. I say get out and hunt as much as you can, guns or no guns. As they say, you can't kill a deer from your couch.
