x2 if you are antler hunting. I hunt Tuscarawas county and our deer harvest numbers are #1 in the state, but we don take the most big bucks. I would say the 3 counties for big bucks would be Muskingum, Coshocton, and Guernsey. Seems like there have been a ton of freak giants come from Adams county in the last few years.
I must agree also.. There are some monsters taken over there every year. Adams and Brown County...But I hear a lot about SE Ohio and always have. I love the terrain out that way.
Alright im from the northern part of the of the lovely state of ohio....Erie county, which theres some big deer around here..just seems like you have to search alittle, but we have had some and i have personally seen some monster. We are completly surrounded with corn and beans. Great year too..best crop season and coolest summer we have had in 20 yrs. So the deer should have full stomachs, and slow reactions, I MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE..haha ..Most of the big dear though are on private lands it seems. Once in a while we you'll see big deer, however theres so much pressure around here, they dont let deer reach full potential. There was a 33 pt killed on public land down the road from my house in Resthaven, last year. so you never know...Well, i Hunt Coshocton once in a while, great place, people come from all over to hunt this place in ohio...Anywhere southeast part of the state....This should help here are the numbers ..best in state from last year kills that were reported (Not counting all the people that dont tag, it sucks but happens). # 1 Coshocton 9564 kills # 2 Tuscarawas 8814 kills # 3 Licking 7967 kills # 4 Guemsey 7916 kills # 5 Muskingham 7245 kills These are top 5...all in same part of the state...but you guys are right Adams county has produce monsters, look up the " Betty Buck".....online, huge buck out of ohio..so it has a great reputation with monster bucks in the past, and there here.....I hope this helps, and if you need some contact numbers, i might be able to hook you up somehow..with some places to go, or guys that you can call for payed hunts...but you'll pay crazy amounts, just go on public land and take your chances...
Mike Beatty killed that buck in Greene county. I have land and a cabin in Muskingum county; plenty of monsters there but it's some tough hunting. It's definitely not farming land :D I love to hunt there but most of my time is spent in Licking and Delaware counties (flat/farm lands). You can kill a stud anywhere in OH but for my money, anywhere south and east of Columbus.
Im actually going down to Coshocton County here opening weekend....havnt been down there since last year...how has the crops been there and any that lives there, give me some insight on how the deer are moving...let me know...im getting excited, any small talk is appreciate greatly....
