Central ohio.. saw big buck dogging a doe.. and a couple little guys together. . Not what I was wish for today .. need more action worst week of vacation ever
Rattled in 2 bucks (one ok, one small), saw a decent buck trailing a doe rut is still on pretty good in N.E. Ohio
Great activity the last couple days in NC OH. Bucks up all day running and chasing. Hung a stand near a bedding area in my sanctuary area on friday, buck tag filled saturday morning first sit.
First bow kill Saturday morning near Belpre sw Ohio. 15 min after getting my climber up the tree 6 point missing his right side rack came across 35 yards out. I stopped him in one of my shooting lanes and let the arrow fly. Good impact and he made it about 60 yards. Needless to say I'm hooked. First bow kill out of the way , next year I'll be more picky. This was my second hunt of the season and 5th deer I had seen. NAP sling blade is no joke left a blood trail a blind man could follow.
Sat all evening last night and nothing. This is unusual because in three years I can count on one hand the time I haven't seen deer on sits. Just north of Dayton here and don't think the rut has hit just yet. Close tho I'm thinking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Where abouts are you trying to hunt, public or private land?. First year living in OH and i got this giant on public land halloween night!
That deer is awesome. I have been Hunting public land only. Beavercreek mostly because it was close and that is really all I had time to scout. Gonna check out spring valley this spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
By any chance can anyone give me advise on some public land to check out im planing my first out of state hunt this year and I've read some online and am trying to scout using areal maps and topos just looking for advise on public land to shy away from and land to look into if you could Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
That is a massive rack. Only seen one good size buck this year, the other two bucks have been on the small side. Had someone told me to switch times I hunt and hunt late morning to early afternoon cause the deer are moving at this time and at night instead of early morning and early evening in the early season (before gun). What do you guys from Ohio think. I'm hunting in central Ohio. This is the time of year that I don't see that many deer so I am considering trying this tactic. I am hunting in the between bedding and food.
Any good food source this time of year is a good bet, I hunt over corn shot a doe this evening been seeing a lot of deer movement but no big bucks. I've seen two shooters (at least what I'm looking for) this year plenty of young bucks. Keep at it, it could happen at any time hunt the food sources, been seeing most mid to late evening not as much morning.
well as of nov 3rd ohio granted me a nice 8 point... I can not seem to figure out how to post the picture on here! but any way with a doe tag still in my pocket here in "north" central ohio i we are seeing about 8-20 deer a night hunting a small plot of woods with 360 corn fields..... anyone else on here around my location. 45 minutes north of cbus
I'm just a little farther north from you. Northern ashland county. Been seeing them in the evening time lately cause of the gun season. Your neighborhood Bow Hunter
Conesville coal lands? Anyone been there? Is it worth the trip? I'm from NE Ohio and looking at spending some time in Southern Ohio next year. I want to start scouting before spring to get an idea how the land will look before November. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm in there with you man, trying to fill a doe tag and trying harder to find the time to get into the woods. Good luck man, still got some time.
