Finally starting to see some deer. Two days ago i had a doe come running through, and thought it was way to earlie for her to be getting chased. So i was gonna shoot he, till i heard a grunt coming my way. To bad he was just a little 7 pointer. THE RUT HAS BEGUN IN IOWA

My dad saw what he described as a really nice 6 pointer today bedded down with a doe as he was driving out of our farm. He saw 2 small bucks roaming earlier today too. He didn't last sitting in stand very long today. The stand he was sitting in was a box blind so he was dry. I'm hoping the standing corn we have won't get combined until Friday or Saturday.

Things are heating up in Iowa for sure. I saw a doe bedded near my stand as soon as she got up she bolted out of there like she has been getting pushed around and three bucks came to check her bed in less than an hour ... a small 6 pointer was tracking her hard. The bucks are definately keeping track of the doe beds and checking them. Also seeing small deer wondering around aimlessly ... chased away from mamma.
