If momma aint happy...you aint hunting.

I think opening weekend is a small price to pay for the rest of the season.

Little tip: Surprise her with one earlier in the year and you should be golden for the season.:tu:

In her defense, she ,"thought opener was the following weekend, so this would be the last time she got to see me in for about 4 months.........". Still going to try for early morning hunt first day. I think I'm golden for that.

I'd skip opener for that. I hate hunting in the heat any ways.

If I were to miss any day(s) in the deer woods it would be the first couple of days. Relax, eat some good food with your wife, and enjoy her company. Your days in the woods will feel that much better and your relationship with your wife will be that much better as the season commences.

    The Opener
Well the opener for me was on the 1st of Sept, and I'm now just descenting my clothing! Might get out mid week ,so that put's me at missing opening day by 9 days and counting. Doing all the extra stuff that's needs to make the other 1/2 happy. Plus it's been above normal for temps her the last 4 days at +30C. We haven't had a 30+ day all summer. Deer have got to be bedded,so I'm not missing any thing special. That's in my Mind not that I'm not missing anything special!
I've waited 9 months, a few extra days won't hurt.

The bed and breakfast weekend is cheaper than a divorce anyhow, keep her happy, it'll make the rest of the season go smoother. Enjoy.

Here's what you do-take it from an old fart,
you tell her that you have booked a b&b at hadley creek outfitters! (better hurry up & call) then when they tell you they're booked for that weekend, go with her and make mamma happy. Tell her you cannot get the deposit back, you will have to go-everybods happy!-right?
